RAILWAY SYSTEM OF ZAMBIA TO INVEST $12MILLION IN ITS OPERATIONS BY THE END OF THIS YEAR.

THE RAILWAY SYSTEM OF ZAMBIA (RSZ) HAS DISCLOSED THAT IT PLANS TO INVEST ABOUT $12MILLION IN ITS OPERATIONS BY THE END OF THIS YEAR.
RSZ CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER BENJAMIN EVEN HAS TOLD RADIO PHOENIX THAT  HIS  COMPANY HAS ALSO INVESTED IN  FULL REHABILITATION OF MORE THAN 150 WAGONS THIS YEAR AT AN APPROXIMATION OF $3MILLION OF LOCOMOTIVES SPARES TO SUPPORT THE  LOCOMOTIVES UPGRADE PROGRAMME.
AND MR. EVEN SAYS RSZ IN COOPERATION WITH TAZARA HAS SO FAR TRANSPORTED APPROXIMATELY 80,000-100,000TONNES  OF CARGO IN FORM OF COPPER AND FERTILIZERS SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR.
HE SAYS RSZ HAS TRANSPORTED INTO THE COUNTRY MOST OF THE FERTILIZERS WHICH ARRIVED THIS YEAR OF APPROXIMATELY 80,000 TONNES FROM SOUTH AFRICA AND DAR ES SALAAM.
MR EVEN FURTHER SAYS  RSZ HAS ALSO EXPORTED APPROXIMATELY 35,000TONNES OF EU SUGAR TO SOUTH AFRICA SINCE  APRIL TODATE.
MEANWHILE MR. EVEN HAS BEMOANED WHAT HE HAS CALLED AS ENDLESS VANDALISM ACTS ALONG THE RAILWAY LINE WHICH HE SAYS IS A DRAW BACK TO THE PERFORMANCE OF THE COMPANY.
