the ruling patriotic front party (pf) says it will scrutinize individuals defecting to the party from the opposition movement for multiparty democracy (mmd).
the pf observes that some defectors from the mmd are running away from being prosecuted.
speaking in an interview, pf lusaka chairperson davies chama has also accused the former ruling party members joining the pf of funning violence and denting the name of the party.
mr chama says the pf has never been violent in all its political activities but has been preaching peace through out even when it was in opposition though its members were getting harassed.
when asked to clear the air on the several reported political violence after the elections and claims from the opposition that their members are getting harassed, mr. chama accuses people defecting to the ruling party of bringing confusion hence they will all be scrutinized before they are allowed into the pf.
he says this will be done so that the name of the party is not brought into disrepute and ridicule.
