PSDA Observes That Zambia Is Losing Billion And Billions Of Kwacha Out Of The Nitrogen Chemical Of Zambia

The Private Sector development Association Has Observed That Zambia Is Losing Billion Of Kwacha Out Of The Nitrogen Chemical Of Zambia Which Is Not Productive At The Moment.

Psda Chairperson Yusuf Dodia Says The Recent Decision To Privatize Ncz Instead Of Re-Capitalizing It Will Not Be In The Country’s Interest As The Investor Will End Up Running It Down Further Like What Has Happened To Other Companies Like Railway System Of Zambia Amongst Others.
Mr. Dodia Says There Is Need For Government To Consider Looking For A Partner Who It Will Work Together With And Recapitalize The Company Which Is Very Viable As Fertilizer As An Already Existing Market.
He Says Government Must Pick Up Lessons From Other Privatization Scenarios Which Have Not Worked And Find A Way Which Will Save Ncz And Make It More Productive Unlike The Current Situation Were Government Is Spending Huge Sum Of Money In Trying To Keep It Running.
Mr. Dodia Has Stated That For The Private Sector To Participate In The Company There Is Need For Government To Provide The Road Map Which Will Entice Them Into Venturing In Fertilizer Production By Creating Competitive Companies.
recently government proposed that the company be sold so that it becomes productive.
