16people die in a road accident in chibombo area of central province along the great north road.



16 People Have Deid And 4 Are Critically Ill And Nursing Their Wounds In Kabwe General Hospital After A Mini-Bus Hiace Registration No. Acp 3052 They Were Travelling In Overturned After Colliding With An On-Coming Truck Along The Great North Road.

According To Road And Transport Safety Agency Public Relations Officer Mercy Mwila, The Mini-Bus Hiace Which Was Coming From Kabwe Heading To Lusaka Was Carrying 20 Passengers Plus A Driver  Over-Turned After It Had A Tyre Bust And Hit Into An Incoming Truck.
In An Interview With Radio Phoenix, Mrs. Mwila Says The Accident Happened Near Ibis Gardens In Chibombo Area Of Central Province.
And Kabwe Central Pf Member Of Parliament James Kapyanga Has Confirmed The Unfortunate Incident Adding That Motorists Need To Pay Attention To The Road Signs And Follow Speed Limits.
Mr. Has Also Appealed To Public Transport Users To Start Enforcing A Citizen’s Arrest If They See A Driver Is Over-Speeding By Reporting To The Next Police Station Or Road Block.
Meanwhile Office Of The Vice President Deputy Minister Harry Kalaba Has Expressed Sadness At The Loose Of Lives Barely 3months Down The Line After 54 Lives Were Lost In The Same Area Of Chibombo District.
And Police Public Relations Officer Elizabeth Kanjela Who Has Also Confirmed The Incident Says The Accident Happened Today Around 06:30 Hours.
Ms Kanjela Says The Driver Of The Volvo Truck Belongs To Saboc Transport Of Zimbabwe Registration Number Aaf 8926 And Trailer No. 6767t Nathan Kambauwa Aged 40 Of Harare Escaped Unhurt.
She Has Further Appealed To Members Of The Public Whose Relatives Were Travelling From Kabwe To Lusaka This Morning Using The Involved Minibus To Help With The Identification Of The Bodies
