Gov't appoints NATSAVE board of directors


Government has appointed national savings and credit bank (NATSAVE) board of directors’ and appointed Dr chiselebwe n’gandu as board chairperson.

And government has directed the new board of directors to ensure that the bank continues to offer its services to farmers who are its main clients and target by expanding further to rural areas.
Finance deputy minister miles Sampa says the board of directors’ appointment is with immediate effect adding that the ministry is concluding the process of writing to the people who have been appointed.
Mr. Sampa has disclosed that amongst those appointed to sit on the board of directors are senior chief mumena from north western province and a farmer from Kalomo in southern province.
He says the appointment of the farmer is line with the banks vision of providing its services to small and large scale farmers across the country.
The finance deputy minister further disclosed that government will within 2 weeks time constitute the board for Zambia state insurance corporations (ZSIC).
he says government is concerned that the insurance company has been operating without a board in place after the previous one was dissolve.
