ZAMBIAN GOVERNMENT DISBURSES ANOTHER 10 BILLION KWACHA TOWARDS THE DISMANTLING OF ARREARS FOR OTHER PERSONAL EMOLUMENTS FOR TEACHERS

GOVERNMENT HAS DISBURSED ANOTHER 10 BILLION KWACHA TOWARDS THE DISMANTLING OF ARREARS FOR OTHER PERSONAL EMOLUMENTS FOR TEACHERS .
ACCORDING TO A PRESS STATEMENT MADE AVAILABLE TO RADIO PHOENIX BY MINISTRY OF EDUCATION PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER IN’UTU MUSHAMBATWA, THE 10BILLION KWACHA WHICH HAS BEEN RELEASED BRINGS THE TOTAL AMOUNT THAT HAS BEEN DISBURSED IN THE LAST THREE MONTHS TO 40 BILLION KWACHA.
MEANWHILE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION PERMANENT SECRETARY ANDREW PHIRI HAS APPEALED TO ALL PROVINCIAL EDUCATION OFFICERS TO GIVE PRIORITY TO OLD CASES ESPECIALLY WITH REGARDS TO TERMINAL BENEFITS.
MR. PHIRI HAS FURTHER ADVISED ALL THE PROVINCIAL EDUCATION OFFICERS TO ENSURE THAT ALL PAYMENTS ARE PROCESSED EXPEDITIOUSLY FROM THE ARREARS DATABASE HELD BY EACH PROVINCE SO THAT IT IS EASY TO TRACE PAID UP CASES.
HE HAS ALSO URGED ALL TEACHER UNIONS TO BE INVOLVED IN DEVISING THE PAYMENT SYSTEM AS THIS PROMOTES TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY OF PUBLIC FUNDS.
CENTRAL, EASTERN, NORTH WESTERN, WESTERN, AND LUAPULA PROVINCES WILL RECEIVE 1 BILLION KWACHA EACH.
MEANWHILE LUSAKA, AND SOUTHERN PROVINCES WILL RECEIVE 1.2 BILLION KWACHA , COPPERBELT WILL RECEIVE 1.5 BILLION KWACHA WHILE NORTHERN PROVINCE  WILL RECEIVE 1.1BILLION KWACHA RESPECTIVELY.
