Development Plan As Well As The Citizens’ Economic Empowerment Act Number 9 Of
2006.

Implementation Of The Strategic Plan Will Usher In A More Comprehensive And
Co-Ordinated Manner To Deliver On The CEEC’S Mandate To Economically Empower
The Citizens.

During The Stakeholders’ Consultative Conference On The Draft Strategic Plan
For 2012-2016, CEEC Chairperson Overs Banda Says If The Strategic Plan Is
Delivered, CEEC Will Effectively Deliver On Economic Empowerment Products And
Services To The Citizens In A Broad Based Manner.

Banda Has Appealed To Various Stakeholders To Critically Look At The Plan And
See If CEEC Has Covered All The Areas It Was Supposed To Cover And Suggest
Improvement To The Strategic Plan.
Meanwhile
Dr Banda Has Disclosed That Between 2009 And 2011 CEEC Funded About 1,427projects
Countrywide Amounting To 170billion Kwacha Under The Access To Finance Programme
While More Than 180 Projects Totaling 12billion Kwacha Were Funded Under The
Youth Empowerment Fund.
He
Says Under The Preferential Procurement Statutory Instrument Number 36 In Place
And Certification, CEEC Awarded About 352 Business Entities And Over
3,800individuals Were Sensitized In Business Management.
The CEEC Chairperson Has Further Noted That
There Is Need To Change The Mindset Of Zambians From Looking To Be Employed
To Employing Others
