Government Joint Investigations Team formally charge and arrest. Godwin Daka aged 55 for forgery

The Government Joint Investigations Team has formally charged and arrested Mr. Godwin Daka aged 55, a Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Extension Officer of Ndake Camp in Nyimba on the following three offences:

1. Forgery Contrary to Section 347 of the Penal Code, Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

2. Fraudulent False Accounting Contrary to Section 326 of the Penal Code, Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia

3. Uttering a False Document Contrary to Section 352 of the Penal Code, Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia

Particulars of the Offence are that Mr. Daka whose job was to Certify Maize, before the FRA deport buyers could purchase from Farmers, falsified and uttered FRA documents which include Certificates of Quality and Quantity Receipts worth millions of kwacha.

Mr. Daka is also still under investigations for the offence of Theft by Servant on failure to account for money in excess of K600million.

Mr. Daka is currently detained at Nyimba Police Station and will be appearing before the Nyimba Magistrate Court Soon.
