joint government investigative wings seizes 10motor vehicles worthy millions of kwacha from 3 kalomo brief case and a lady


The Joint Government Investigative Wing Officers from Lusaka have seized 10 Motor Vehicles worth Millions of kwacha from three Kalomo brief case Business men and a lady working for Zambia National service.
According to acting public relations officer the joint investigative wings Namukolo Munyeme Kasumpa, the vehicles include an unregistered Freelander, two Prado Land cruisers, four Freightliner horses, two refrigerated Volvo trucks and one unregistered BMW. 
Mrs kasumpa says All the 10motor vehicles which are currently parked at Kalomo Police station were seized in connection to the FRA Maize Fraud.
she says the three men and the lady are being investigated for having received payments from different FRA depots in Kalomo for maize supply which they never supplied.
Mrs kasumpa says the lady who is a civil servant is said to be the owner of one of the Volvo refrigeration trucks adding that  Her mother was earlier arrested in connection with the maize scum and will appear in Kalomo Magistrate Court tomorrow, Friday the 11th of May 2012.

In the same maize scam mrs kasumpa says a 32 year old man namely Victor Hamuvwimi of Zimwidele village, Chief Chikanta’s area, of the Kalomo District, an FRA depot buyer of Kalemu deport in Ndudumwezi area has been detained.

she says Victor Hamuvwimi is said to have failed to account for 30,000 bags of maize worth about K1.9 Billion all of which were in his custody. He has been detained to assist in the ongoing investigations. 

mrs kasumpa says the investigations into the FRA maize scum will spread throughout the country and Kalomo District is just the beginning
