Bank of zambia governor notes that financial services are a critical tool to zambia's economic growth

bank of zambia governor dr. michael gondwe says financial services are a critical tool to ensuring that everyone in zambia step onto the economic growth ladder by tapping their own creativity in income generating activities.
dr. gondwe says entrepreneurs and salaried individuals must be given the opportunity to climb the economic growth ladder of the country.
he says the provision of financial services to the majority of people especially those in rural and peri-urban areas as well as small and micro entrepreneurs who are financially excluded is a key element of alleviating poverty in the country.
the bank of zambia chief was speaking when he officially launched the zambia national commercial bank (zanaco) easybanking center in lusaka this morning.
speaking earlier, zanaco board chairperson chintu mulendema disclosed that the bank’s customer base now stands at 550 thousand.
mr. mulendema said the opening of the cairo road easybanking center is zanaco’s renewed commitment to ensuring that it improves access to financial services for all zambians
