ZAMBIAN DRUG ENFORCEMENT COMMISSION ARRESTS 25 YEAR OLD NIGERIAN NATIONAL FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

THE DRUG ENFORCEMENT COMMISSION HAS ARRESTED A 25 YEAR OLD NIGERIAN NATIONAL FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING.
IN A STATEMENT  RELEASED TO RADIO PHOENIX, DRUG ENFORCEMENT COMMISSION PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER JOHN NYAWALI DISCLOSED THAT GIDEON AMAGBOUBI, A BUSINESSMAN OF KITWE WAS ARRESTED FROM BULANGILILO TOWNSHIP AFTER A SEARCH AT HIS HOUSE FOLLOWING A LONG TRAIL OF HIS ACTIVITIES
MR. NYAWALI DISCLOSED THAT  AMAGBOUDI WAS FOUND WITH TWO COCAINE EGGS THAT ARE RARE TYPE OF COCAINE TO BE FOUND IN ZAMBIA.
HE SAYS  AMAGBOUDI BECOMES A FIFTH NIGERIAN NATIONAL TO BE ARRESTED IN KITWE FOR TRAFFICKING IN COCAINE IN THE LAST FOUR MONTHS BRINGING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF FOREIGNERS ARRESTED ON THE COPPERBELT TO 11.
AND MR  NYAWALI HAS ALSO DISCLOSED THAT ABOUT 234 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ARRESTED ON THE COPPERBELT FOR VARIOUS DRUG TRAFFICKING OFFENCES IN THE LAST FIVE MONTHS.
HE  HAS EXPRESSED WORRY ON THE INCREASING CASES OF DRUG TRAFFICKING ACTIVITIES ON THE COPPERBELT ESPECIALLY THAT THE VICE IS BECOMING RAMPANT IN AFFLUENT NIGHT CLUBS AND AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE.
IN ANOTHER DEVELOPMENT  2.7 TONNES OF CANNABIS WAS BEEN SEIZED IN THE LAST SEVEN DAYS COUNTRYWIDE AND 102 PEOPLE ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE PSYCHOTROPIC SUBSTANCE.
MR NYAWALI FURTHER SAYS  200 BUNDLES OF MIRRA  WERE FOUND ABANDONED AT A BUS STATION IN NAKONDE DISTRICT AFTER THE SUSPECT REALIZED SHE WAS BEING TRAILED
